This book is an edited compilation of the transcripts of the 22 talks broadcast on the Truth for Today, The Bible Explained radio program between September 2017 and March 2020 in the series “Psalm 119 – The importance of God’s Word”. Psalm 119 is an acrostic in twenty-two sections, each of eight verses, corresponding to the letters of the Hebrew alphabet in order. Within each section the first word of each verse begins with the same letter. This structure of the Psalm lends itself to consideration section by section, and altogether twelve different speakers contributed to the series.
As several of the speakers referred to the structure of Psalm 119 during their talk, these comments have been collated, condensed, and incorporated in the Introduction to this book.
What is Psalm 119 all about? Really, just one theme – the excellency and value of the Word of God. For Christian believers, the Word of God not only furnishes us with a knowledge of the living God, but it also speaks of the Christ who has revealed Him.
