James Green was an artist and lithographer, contributing detailed illustrations to Arthur Mee’s I See All and its successor, the Children’s Encyclopaedia. He was a committed Christian and a prolific contributor of devotional articles to Scripture Truth magazine in the early 20th Century. He was much taken with how Old Testament characters, events, and objects illustrate New Testament concepts and illuminate aspects of the character and person of its Subject: Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
