James Green (1859-1936), was an artist and lithographer by profession, amongst other things contributing detailed illustrations to Arthur Mee’s I See All and its successor, the Children’s Encyclopaedia. He was a committed Christian and a prolific contributor of devotional articles to Scripture Truth magazine in the early part of the 20th Century. He was much taken with the way in which Old Testament characters, events and objects illustrate New Testament concepts and illuminate aspects of the character and person of its Subject: Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
